Biography of Ronaldo
Ronaldo Luis Naz�rio de Lima, also known as Ronaldo was born at 22 September 1976 at Bento Ribeiro, Brazil. He started playing at Cruzeiro at age 16. In his first season he scored 12 goals in 14 matches and won the Copa do Brasil. He was awarded for his good play and got selected for the Brazilian team. He went to the Fifa World Cup 1994 in the USA as a 17 year old but did not play.
Ronaldo the best player of the world
After the 1994 World Cup Ronaldo signed at PSV Eindhoven from The Netherlands. He scored 54 goals in 57 appearences won the Dutch Cup in 1996 and became Eredivisie top scorer in 1995. In 1996 Ronaldo made the tranfer to FC Barcelona where he did well by scoring 47 goals in 49 appearences. Barcelona won the UEFA Cup Winners�Cup, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espa�a that year. Ronaldo became topscorer of the Spanish league with 34 goals and became FIFA World Player of the Year 1996. He was the youngest player ever to win the Fifa World Player of the Year with age 20. After just one year at Barcelona Ronaldo left and signed at Inter Milan for a world record fee of �19 Million. At his first season at Inter he scored 25 goals and was again awarded Fifa World Player of the Year.
World Cup 1998
Ronaldo played at the Fifa World Cup 1998 in France in which he reached the final with Brazil. The night before the final he suffered a convulsive fit. Ronaldo was at first removed from the starting lineup but he requested to play and was reinstated by coach Mario Zagallo. Brazil lost the final with 3-0 against France due to a great Zidane.
Ronaldo at Internazionale 1998-2002
Ronaldo remained at Inter after the World Cup and played in total 5 seasons for Inter in which he was injured a lot of time. He scored 59 goals in 99 appearences for Inter and won the UEFA Cup in 1998.
World Cup 2002
In 2002 Ronaldo was just recovered from a knee injury so he could play at the World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan. Ronaldo scored 8 goals and won the tournament with Brazil by a 2-0 win in the Final against Germany in which he scored both goals. Ronaldo won the Golden Shoe that tournament and was runner-up for the Golden Ball.
Ronaldo at Real Madrid 2002-2007
After the World Cup Ronaldo signed at Real Madrid where he scored a total of 104 goals in 5 seasons at Real Madrid.
World Cup 2006
At the World Cup 2006 in Germany Ronaldo scored 3 goals giving him a total of 15 goals in World Cup play, a new record. Brazil lost in the quarter final against France.
2007 until now
In january 2007 Ronaldo transferred from Real Madrid to AC Milan where he score 9 goals in 20 matches. In 2009 Ronaldo signed at Corinthians in Brazil where he so far scored 35 goals in 69 matches and won the Copa do Brasil in 2009. He ended his career in 2011.
